I fell in love with design.
My name is Oleksandr (Alex) Shemchuk, I am a product designer from Ukraine. Back in 2002, when the internet was not as widespread, and searching for any information meant visiting bookstores, buying stock photos and software on CDs, I was passionately studying Photoshop 7.0 from books and creating first designs felt like pure magic.
In 2008, I completed my first freelance website, marking the beginning of my transformation from a web designer into a product designer, and later into a Head of Design. Over time, my focus shifted from pixels to strategy: aligning design with business needs, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, and balancing stakeholder expectations.

Smartsy · Lead Designer · 2023 - 2025
As a Lead Designer at Smartsy, I was responsible for the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, focusing on creating a digital tool that generates brand-consistent social media posts in several clicks for small businesses.

LnwAsia · Lead Designer · 2019 - 2023
While working in Bangkok as a Lead Designer, I developed the company's key products and managed a design team of three designers who worked on other projects. In total, we launched more than 10 profitable products in the field of information portals and gambling. It was an amazing experience to live and work in Asia, immersed in its dynamic market and culture.

At Attendify, a social networking service for events that later became part of Hopin, I designed user-centric interfaces and interactive features to enhance event engagement as a UX/UI Designer.
